When you become a member, you join a network of individual practitioners, artist collectives, Off-Broadway theater companies, and everything in between! It’s about supporting one another, sharing knowledge and resources, and refusing to make art in isolation — simply put, we are better together.
Membership Benefits

Space Rentals
Book a space at Spaces@520 in Manhattan or South Oxford Space in Brooklyn available to rent hourly or weekly at subsidized, tiered rates.

Office Space & Mailbox Rentals
Members can lease subsidized office space or a dedicated mailbox at either Spaces@520 or South Oxford Space.

The A.R.T./New York Theatres
Book at one of our two Off-Broadway performance venues, both highly-flexible performance spaces with state of the art and fully ADA-accessible facilities at a subsidized rate based on your organization’s operating budget.

Grants
A.R.T./New York provides grants to theatres of all sizes through a number of regranting programs supported by foundations, corporations, and government agencies in the New York City community.

Grant Assistance & Office Hours
Technical assistance in the form of virtual office hours is offered by A.R.T./New York staff during the open submission period for each grant.

Cash Flow Loan Program
In partnership with SeaChange Capital, A.R.T./New York offers a Cash Flow Loan Program to meet the unique liquidity needs of organizational members of A.R.T./New York.

From live workshops, trainings, multi-day forums, and one-on-one conversations to digital tools and content, A.R.T./New York continually shapes our program offerings around the immediate needs of theatremakers like you!

Membership Categories
A.R.T./New York offers two types of membership: Organization Membership and Individual Membership.We ask that members self-affirm that they have ties to the New York theatre community in some capacity.
All A.R.T./New York Membership dues include the same benefits and access. are “pay-what-you-can.”We offer flexible pricing for membership in recognition of the range of capacities and needs in our field. Select the level that works for your organization or individual practice. We offer some parameters for what level might be right for you based on some common characteristics.

Organization Membership
Right for any group of people working and creating theatre together.
Suggested dues:
- Companies with budgets greater than $5M, who operate a facility, or own significant fixed assets: $1,500/year
- Companies with budgets greater than $3.5M: $1,000/year
- Companies with budgets between $750K-$3.5M, have some full/part-time staff, and/or own/lease a space: $500/year
- Companies with budgets between $250K-$750K: $200/year
- Companies with budgets under $250K, with no full time staff: $150/year
Individual Membership
Right for any solo person who is otherwise not a part of a member organization. This may include designers, producers, dramaturgs, freelance arts administrators, any many, many more roles.
Suggested dues:
- $50/year
- $25/year
