Whether you are looking for a theatre to stage a multi-week production of a new musical, an AEA showcase, or a conference, the A.R.T./New York Theatres has space to suit your needs. Our two performance venues – the Gural and the Mezzanine – have up to 87 and 149 seats respectively (depending on selected configuration), and come equipped with technical and production resources to help your team bring your production to life. The A.R.T./New York Theatres are primarily available for rental on a weekly basis, and short term rentals may be possible when availability allows. Please note we are not able to book short term rental requests until 60 days out from the requested date. 

Our bookings system operates on a first come, first serve basis. If your first choice range of dates is not available we are happy to discuss alternate weeks. Tours are possible subject to venue availability, once we have received your inquiry form.

Mezzanine Theatre

Standard Weekly Rate: $8,350/week

Gural Theatre

Standard Weekly Rate: $5,450/week

  • Up to 87 patrons
  • 34′ x 32′ theatre space
  • 13′-8.5″ ceiling height
  • Black box with Modular seating

Pricing and Process

Subsidized Theatre Rentals

A.R.T./New York member theatres are invited to inquiry about subsidized rentals for bookings two weeks or longer. Our subsidized rental rates are based on your annual operating budget. Bookings are offered on a first-come, first served basis.

Non-Subsidized Rentals

If you do not qualify for subsidy but are interested in our spaces, the theatres will be available for rental at non-subsidized rates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Insurance Requirements

Proof of insurance is required to rent at the A.R.T./New York Theatres, and certificates are due one week prior to the start of your rental. Your policies need to be in place for the entirety of your rental period as indicated in your rental contract.

To secure your rental a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total rental fee is due upon signing Memorandum of Understanding. Please note we do not allow cancellations after the Memorandum of Understanding has been signed. 

30 Days after the Memorandum of Understanding has been signed we proceed with the full contract and 40% of the remaining balance is due. Payment plans may be possible, speak with A.R.T./New York Theatres Staff for more information. The remaining rental fee balance is due 30 days out from your Commencement Date. 

In addition to the rental fee we require a security deposit ranging in cost from $1,500.00-$5,000.00 depending on your selected theatre and the total number of weeks rented. 

When budgeting for your production please note we also require flameproofing & flameproofing certificates, front of house staffing, and box office staffing. Additional expenses may vary.
